TWO Scottish locations have been named among the best UK city breaks for young families this summer.
The ranking looked at a number of factors including the average elevation, the safety of the area as well as the child-friendly activities nearby.
Introducing the list, the travel experts said: "Many families are looking for a perfect city break staycation this summer.
"With so many great cities to visit, it can be hard to know which best cater to children and babies.
"Considering this, the travel experts from Planet Cruise have indexed the best city breaks in the UK for young families by looking at factors such as average elevation (for those pushing prams), safety score, average summer temperature, number of child-friendly activities and number of parks."
Glasgow and Edinburgh named among the best city breaks for young families
Glasgow and Edinburgh were the two Scottish locations named among the best city breaks in the UK for young families.
Discussing Scotland's capital, which placed number three on the list, the experts said: "With the second most child-friendly activities (218) and the second highest safety score (68.76), Edinburgh ranks in third as the best city for young families to visit.
"Edinburgh’s summer temperatures are cooler, averaging 13.5 degrees Celsius, meaning it shouldn’t be unbearably warm.
